The Centennial Apaches (Compton, CA) basketball nipped the visiting Hawthorne Cougars (Hawthorne, CA), 67-65 in Friday's league test.

The Apaches (3-16) will now prepare for their test against Morningside (Inglewood, CA). The Monarchs go into the Ocean test with a 1-15 record.

The Cougars now own a 6-15 record. They play next when they host Inglewood for a Ocean test on Tuesday, January 30. Hawthorne will encounter a Sentinels squad coming off a 59-51 league loss to Leuzinger (Lawndale, CA). The Sentinels record now stands at 11-11.
