North Stokes Vikings (Danbury, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC), 74-57 in a league bout.

With the win, North Stokes upgrades its record to 13-6 on the season. The Vikings host Starmount (Boonville, NC) to clash with the Rams in a 1A Northwest bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 7-9. Starmount won 67-34 in their recent non-league bout against Forbush (East Bend, NC)

Next up, the Buckin' Elks clash with the East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC) in a 1A Northwest bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Elkin will attempt to upgrade on its 4-13 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 6-11 record after their 62-41 league loss to Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC).
