Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Upper St. Clair Panthers (Upper St. Clair, PA) and the visiting Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA), saw Upper St. Clair's basketball squad overcome Hempfield Area by a tally of 48-39.

With the victory, Upper St. Clair improves its record to 12-3 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Norwin (North Huntingdon, PA) to confront the Knights in a WPIAL 6A 2 challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Knights come into the challenge with a record of 7-9.

Next up, the Spartans confront the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils (Pittsburgh, PA) in a WPIAL 6A 2 challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Hempfield Area will attempt to improve on its 4-14 season record.
