Vernon Lions (Vernon, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Henrietta Bearcats (Henrietta, TX), 77-37 in a league bout.

With the victory, Vernon upgrades its record to 18-7 on the campaign. The Lions travel to City View (Wichita Falls, TX) to play the Mustangs in a 3A Region I District 7 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 14-9. City View won 88-43 in their recent league bout against Henrietta (Henrietta, TX)

Next up, the Bearcats play the Bowie Jackrabbits (Bowie, TX) in a 3A Region I District 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Henrietta will attempt to upgrade on its 5-18 season record. The Jackrabbits come into the bout with a 14-15 record after their 54-44 league loss to Jacksboro (Jacksboro, TX).
