Sumrall Bobcats (Sumrall, MS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Lawrence County Cougars (Monticello, MS), 56-53 in a league bout.

With the win, Sumrall upgrades its record to 19-3 on the season. The Bobcats travel to Forrest County Agricultural (Brooklyn, MS) to play the Aggies in a 4A Region 7 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Aggies go into the bout with a record of 10-12. Forrest County Agricultural won 62-50 in their recent league bout against Purvis (Purvis, MS)

Next up, the Cougars play the Purvis Tornadoes (Purvis, MS) in a 4A Region 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Lawrence County will attempt to upgrade on its 9-15 season record. The Tornadoes go into the bout with a 12-5 record after their 66-52 league win over Columbia (Columbia, MS).
