Sumrall Bobcats (Sumrall, MS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Lawrence County Cougars (Monticello, MS), 59-53 in a league bout.

With the win, Sumrall upgrades its record to 14-3 on the season. The Bobcats host Forrest County Agricultural (Brooklyn, MS) to play the Aggies in a 4A Region 7 bout on Friday, January 12. The Aggies go into the bout with a record of 8-11. Forrest County Agricultural lost 45-39 in their recent league bout against Lawrence County (Monticello, MS)

Next up, the Cougars play the Purvis Tornadoes (Purvis, MS) in a 4A Region 7 bout, on Friday, January 12. Lawrence County will attempt to upgrade on its 6-13 season record. The Tornadoes go into the bout with a 10-3 record after their 75-53 league win over Columbia (Columbia, MS).
