McAllen Memorial Mustangs (McAllen, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Valley View Tigers (Pharr, TX), 87-34 in a league bout.

With the win, McAllen Memorial upgrades its record to 20-6 on the season. The Mustangs host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial (Alamo, TX) to clash with the Wolverines in a 5A Region IV District 31 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Wolverines go into the bout with a record of 12-18. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial lost 51-40 in their recent league bout against Pioneer (Mission, TX)

Next up, the Tigers clash with the Rowe Warriors (McAllen, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 31 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Valley View will attempt to upgrade on its 11-21 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 20-11 record after their 51-32 league win over Sharyland (Mission, TX).
