Victoria East Titans (Victoria, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Miller Buccaneers (Corpus Christi, TX), 61-59 in a league bout.

With the victory, Victoria East upgrades its record to 19-12 on the campaign. The Titans travel to Ray (Corpus Christi, TX) to play the Texans in a 5A Region IV District 29 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Texans come into the bout with a record of 15-14. Ray lost 75-58 in their recent league bout against Gregory-Portland (Portland, TX)

Next up, the Buccaneers play the Victoria West Warriors (Victoria, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 29 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Miller will attempt to upgrade on its 14-11 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 10-13 record after their 49-39 league loss to Victoria East (Victoria, TX).
