The Warren Lumberjacks (Warren, AR) basketball nipped the visiting Monticello Billies (Monticello, AR), 63-57 in Friday's league test.

The Lumberjacks (5-3) will now prepare for their test against Stuttgart (Stuttgart, AR). The Ricebirds go into the 4A Region 8 test with a 8-13 record. In their last test, Stuttgart got by Star City (Star City, AR), 62-54, in a league test.

The Billies now own a 6-13 record. They play next when they host Mills University Studies for a 4A Region 8 test on Saturday, January 27. Monticello will encounter a Comets squad coming off a 62-51 league win over Watson Chapel (Pine Bluff, AR). The Comets record now stands at 13-8.
