Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Warren Lumberjacks (Warren, AR) and the host Monticello Billies (Monticello, AR), saw Warren's basketball squad hold off Monticello by a tally of 58-56.
With the victory, Warren improves its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Lumberjacks host Stuttgart (Stuttgart, AR) to play the Ricebirds in a 4A Region 8 challenge on Friday, January 5. The Ricebirds come into the challenge with a record of 3-12. Stuttgart lost 58-57 in their recent league challenge against Star City (Star City, AR)
Next up, the Billies play the Star City Bulldogs (Star City, AR) in a 4A Region 8 challenge, on Friday, January 5. Monticello will attempt to improve on its 2-9 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 6-6 record after their 58-57 league win over Stuttgart (Stuttgart, AR).
