West Jones Mustangs (Laurel, MS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Pearl River Central Blue Devils (Carriere, MS), 54-50 in a league bout.

With the win, West Jones upgrades its record to 11-14 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Jim Hill (Jackson, MS) to play the Tigers in a 6A Region 3 bout on Saturday, January 27. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 3-17. Jim Hill lost 50-38 in their recent league bout against Forest Hill (Jackson, MS)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Hattiesburg Tigers (Hattiesburg, MS) in a 6A Region 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Pearl River Central will attempt to upgrade on its 10-10 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 22-2 record after their 59-53 league loss to Terry (Terry, MS).
