The Abilene Eagles basketball team scored 66 points and held the visiting Lubbock Westerners to 61 in the Eagles league triumph on Friday.

The Eagles now sport a 17-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Coronado for a 5A Region I District 4 contest on Tuesday, January 30. Abilene will face a Mustangs team coming off a 86-34 league loss to Lubbock-Cooper (Lubbock, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 9-21.

With the defeat, Lubbock moves to 6-19 on the year. The Westerners travel to Wylie (Abilene, TX) to face the Bulldogs in a 5A Region I District 4 game on Tuesday, January 30. The Bulldogs enter the game with a record of 17-12. Wylie lost 75-41 in their recent league game against Monterey (Lubbock, TX)
