The Gilmer Buckeyes basketball team scored 44 points and held the visiting Carthage Bulldogs to 21 in the Buckeyes league triumph on Friday.

The Buckeyes now sport a 16-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Center for a 4A Region III District 17 contest on Tuesday, January 30. Gilmer will meet a Roughriders team coming off a 43-37 league win over Spring Hill (Longview, TX). The Roughriders record now stands at 20-7.

The Bulldogs (11-15) will now prepare for their contest against Henderson (Henderson, TX). The Lions enter the 4A Region III District 17 contest with a 18-8 record. In their last contest, Henderson triumphed over Kilgore (Kilgore, TX), 40-31, in a league contest.
