The Columbus Cardinals (Columbus, TX) basketball nipped the host Industrial Cobras (Vanderbilt, TX), 43-40 in Friday's league test.
The Cardinals (20-8) will now prepare for their test against Hallettsville (Hallettsville, TX). The Brahmas go into the 3A Region IV District 25 test with a 28-5 record. In their last test, Hallettsville got by Yoakum (Yoakum, TX), 53-28, in a league test.
The Cobras now own a 8-18 record. They play next when they travel to Edna for a 3A Region IV District 25 test on Tuesday, January 30. Industrial will encounter a Cowboys squad coming off a 56-50 league win over Palacios (Palacios, TX). The Cowboys record now stands at 24-6.
