Emmetsburg E'Hawks (Emmetsburg, IA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting West Bend-Mallard Wolverines (West Bend, IA), 39-28 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Emmetsburg upgrades its record to 10-8 on the campaign. The E'Hawks host Alta-Aurelia (Alta, IA) to play the Warriors in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 9-9. Alta-Aurelia lost 75-53 in their recent league bout against Northwest Webster (Manson, IA)

Next up, the Wolverines play the Harris-Lake Park Wolves (Lake Park, IA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 29. West Bend-Mallard will attempt to upgrade on its 9-7 season record. The Wolves come into the bout with a 5-11 record after their 61-26 league loss to Akron-Westfield (Akron, IA).
