West Bend-Mallard Wolverines (West Bend, IA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Emmetsburg E'Hawks (Emmetsburg, IA), 44-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West Bend-Mallard upgrades its record to 7-3 on the season. The Wolverines host Newell-Fonda (Newell, IA) to clash with the Mustangs in a Twin Lakes bout on Friday, January 12. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 11-1. Newell-Fonda won 72-29 in their recent league bout against Pocahontas (Pocahontas, IA)

Next up, the E'Hawks clash with the South O'Brien Wolverines (Paullina, IA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 11. Emmetsburg will attempt to upgrade on its 8-5 season record.
