Estill County Engineers (Irvine, KY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY), 44-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Estill County upgrades its record to 8-10 on the season. The Engineers host Madison Southern (Berea, KY) to clash with the Eagles in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 9-6. Madison Southern won 45-36 in their recent league bout against Berea (Berea, KY)

Next up, the Pirates clash with the Breathitt County Bobcats (Jackson, KY) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 27. Powell County will attempt to upgrade on its 9-13 season record.
