In Friday's league outing, the Grundy Golden Wave (Grundy, VA) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Twin Valley Panthers (Pilgrims Knob, VA), by a count of 59-33.

The Golden Wave (13-3) will now prepare for their outing against Belfry (Belfry, KY). The Pirates go into the non-league outing with a 4-11 record. In their last outing, Belfry was crushed by Pike County Central (Pikeville, KY), 53-36, in a league outing.

The Panthers now hold a 9-6 record. They play next when they travel to Hurley for a Black Diamond outing on Tuesday, January 30. Twin Valley will clash with a Rebels squad coming off a 53-44 non-league loss to Tolsia (Fort Gay, WV). The Rebels record now stands at 4-13.
