Avery Bulldogs (Avery, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Union Hill Bulldogs (Gilmer, TX), 56-35 in a league bout.

With the victory, Avery upgrades its record to 15-14 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Sulphur Bluff (Sulphur Bluff, TX) to play the Bears in a 1A Region III District 24 bout on Thursday, February 2. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 15-15. Sulphur Bluff won 54-45 in their recent league bout against Yantis (Yantis, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Avinger Indians (Avinger, TX) in a 1A Region III District 24 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Union Hill will attempt to upgrade on its 9-10 season record. The Indians come into the bout with a 8-18 record after their 71-55 league win over Avery (Avery, TX).
