Brazos Cougars (Wallis, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Danbury Panthers (Danbury, TX), 48-35 in a league bout.

With the victory, Brazos upgrades its record to 12-10 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to East Bernard (East Bernard, TX) to play the Brahmas in a 3A Region III District 24 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Brahmas come into the bout with a record of 7-9. East Bernard lost 81-31 in their recent league bout against Hitchcock (Hitchcock, TX)

Next up, the Panthers play the Hempstead Bobcats (Hempstead, TX) in a 3A Region III District 24 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Danbury will attempt to upgrade on its 5-22 season record. The Bobcats come into the bout with a 5-19 record after their 60-35 league loss to Van Vleck (Van Vleck, TX).
