Brazos Cougars (Wallis, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Danbury Panthers (Danbury, TX), 70-60 in a league bout.

With the win, Brazos upgrades its record to 8-7 on the season. The Cougars host East Bernard (East Bernard, TX) to clash with the Brahmas in a 3A Region III District 24 bout on Friday, January 6. The Brahmas go into the bout with a record of 5-6. East Bernard lost 43-31 in their recent non-league bout against Industrial (Vanderbilt, TX)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Hempstead Bobcats (Hempstead, TX) in a 3A Region III District 24 bout, on Friday, January 6. Danbury will attempt to upgrade on its 3-17 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 4-13 record after their 44-18 league loss to Van Vleck (Van Vleck, TX).
