Georgia High School Basketball - Burke County edges New Hampstead

The Burke County Bears (Waynesboro, GA) basketball nipped the host New Hampstead Phoenix (Savannah, GA), 60-58 in Friday's league test.

The Bears (13-6) will now prepare for their test against Jefferson County (Louisville, GA). The Warriors go into the non-league test with a 6-14 record. In their last test, Jefferson County got by Bleckley County (Cochran, GA), 47-35, in a league test.

The Phoenix now own a 10-9 record. They play next when they travel to Woodville-Tompkins for a non-league test on Saturday, January 28. New Hampstead will encounter a Wolverines squad coming off a 73-33 league win over Metter (Metter, GA). The Wolverines record now stands at 14-8.
