Burke County Bears (Waynesboro, GA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host New Hampstead Phoenix (Savannah, GA), 74-71 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Burke County upgrades its record to 16-7 on the season. The Bears host Benedictine (Savannah, GA) to clash with the Cadets in a non-league bout on Friday, February 17. The Cadets go into the bout with a record of 14-5. Benedictine won 72-49 in their recent non-league bout against Southeast Bulloch (Brooklet, GA)

Next up, the Phoenix clash with the Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets (Brooklet, GA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 17. New Hampstead will attempt to upgrade on its 12-12 season record. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a 11-17 record after their 72-49 non-league loss to Benedictine (Savannah, GA).
