Fabens Wildcats (Fabens, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Clint Lions (Clint, TX), 32-30 in a league bout.

With the victory, Fabens upgrades its record to 5-17 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Mountain View (El Paso, TX) to play the Lobos in a 4A Region I District 2 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Lobos come into the bout with a record of 4-22. Mountain View lost 54-29 in their recent league bout against Riverside (El Paso, TX)

Next up, the Lions play the Irvin Rockets (El Paso, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Clint will attempt to upgrade on its 3-19 season record. The Rockets come into the bout with a 5-17 record after their 61-39 league loss to Bowie (El Paso, TX).
