Loyalsock Township Lancers (Williamsport, PA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Hughesville Spartans (Hughesville, PA), 60-46 in a league bout.

With the victory, Loyalsock Township upgrades its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Lancers host Mount Carmel (Mount Carmel, PA) to play the RED TORNADOES in a Heartland III bout on Tuesday, January 31. The RED TORNADOES come into the bout with a record of 5-11. Mount Carmel lost 49-48 in their recent league bout against Warrior Run (Turbotville, PA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Bloomsburg Panthers (Bloomsburg, PA) in a Heartland III bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Hughesville will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 5-11 record after their 67-57 league loss to Southern Columbia Area (Catawissa, PA).
