Patrick County Cougars (Stuart, VA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Magna Vista Warriors (Ridgeway, VA), 84-75 in a league bout.

With the victory, Patrick County upgrades its record to 10-9 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA) to play the Trojans in a Piedmont bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 18-1. Tunstall won 65-51 in their recent league bout against George Washington (Danville, VA)

Next up, the Warriors play the Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA) in a Piedmont bout, on Monday, January 30. Magna Vista will attempt to upgrade on its 4-14 season record. The Comets come into the bout with a 5-12 record after their 36-35 league win over Martinsville (Martinsville, VA).
