Pembroke Spartans (Pembroke, NH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Merrimack Valley The Pride (Penacook, NH), 69-55 in a league bout.

With the win, Pembroke upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Spartans travel to Manchester West (Manchester, NH) to clash with the Blue Knights in a Division II bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Blue Knights go into the bout with a record of 6-3. Manchester West won 70-44 in their recent league bout against Bishop Brady (Concord, NH)

Next up, the The Pride clash with the Pelham Pythons (Pelham, NH) in a Division II bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Merrimack Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record. The Pythons go into the bout with a 9-3 record after their 70-17 league win over Hollis-Brookline (Hollis, NH).
