North Carolina High School Basketball - South Columbus nips Pender

January 27, 2023: Tabor City, NC 28463

South Columbus Stallions (Tabor City, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Pender Patriots (Burgaw, NC), 44-41 in a league bout.

With the win, South Columbus upgrades its record to 7-10 on the season. The Stallions travel to West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC) to play the Vikings in a 1A/2A Conference 5 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 7-8. West Columbus lost 70-57 in their recent league bout against Heide Trask (Rocky Point, NC)

Next up, the Patriots play the Whiteville Wolfpack (Whiteville, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Pender will attempt to upgrade on its 4-14 season record. The Wolfpack go into the bout with a 3-13 record after their 45-41 league win over East Columbus (Lake Waccamaw, NC).
