North Carolina High School Basketball - Pender nudges South Columbus

In Friday's league outing, the Pender Patriots (Burgaw, NC) basketball squad edged the visiting South Columbus Stallions (Tabor City, NC), by a count of 76-73.

The Patriots (2-9) will now prepare for their outing against East Columbus (Lake Waccamaw, NC). The Gators go into the 1A/2A Conference 5 outing with a 3-7 record. In their last outing, East Columbus held off Whiteville (Whiteville, NC), 58-50, in a league outing.

The Stallions now hold a 5-7 record. They play next when they host Heide Trask for a 1A/2A Conference 5 outing on Tuesday, January 10. South Columbus will clash with a Titans squad coming off a 64-50 league win over West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC). The Titans record now stands at 8-4.
