Cross County Cougars (Stromsburg, NE) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles (Bruning, NE), 42-39 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Cross County upgrades its record to 15-4 on the campaign. The Cougars host Nebraska Lutheran (Waco, NE) to play the Knights in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 9-7. Nebraska Lutheran lost 60-30 in their recent non-league bout against Bruning-Davenport/Shickley (Bruning, NE)

Next up, the Eagles play the Osceola Bulldogs (Osceola, NE) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Bruning-Davenport/Shickley will attempt to upgrade on its 14-5 season record.
