The Douglas Byrd Eagles basketball team (Fayetteville, NC), was routed 41-13 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Gray's Creek Bears (Hope Mills, NC)

The Bears now sport a 3-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lumberton for a 3A/4A Conference 22 battle on Tuesday, January 31. Gray's Creek will battle a Pirates team coming off a 59-38 league loss to South View (Hope Mills, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 5-12.

The Eagles (1-20) will now prepare for their battle against Cape Fear (Fayetteville, NC). The Colts come into the 3A/4A Conference 22 battle with a 14-4 record. In their last battle, Cape Fear trounced Seventy-First (Fayetteville, NC), 71-21, in a league battle.
