North Carolina High School Basketball - Gray's Creek nudges Douglas Byrd

In Tuesday's league outing, the Gray's Creek Bears (Hope Mills, NC) basketball squad nipped the visiting Douglas Byrd Eagles (Fayetteville, NC), by a margin of 31-30.

The Bears (2-8) will now prepare for their outing against Lumberton (Lumberton, NC). The Pirates go into the 3A/4A Conference 22 outing with a 2-8 record. In their last outing, Lumberton was tipped by Fairmont (Fairmont, NC), 49-36, in a non-league outing.

The Eagles now own a 1-12 record. They play next when they host Cape Fear for a 3A/4A Conference 22 outing on Friday, January 6. Douglas Byrd will clash with a Colts squad coming off a 69-26 league win over Seventy-First (Fayetteville, NC). The Colts record now stands at 7-4.
