The Madison Patriots basketball team (Marshall, NC), was routed 61-25 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC)

The Wildcats now sport a 12-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rosman for a 1A/2A Conference 42 battle on Tuesday, January 31. Draughn will battle a Tigers team coming off a 62-53 league win over Owen (Black Mountain, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 17-4.

The Patriots (2-18) will now prepare for their battle against Avery County (Newland, NC). The Vikings come into the 1A/2A Conference 42 battle with a 6-13 record. In their last battle, Avery County was routed by Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC), 67-47, in a league battle.
