Model Blue Devils (Rome, GA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host North Murray Mountaineers (Chatsworth, GA), 51-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Model upgrades its record to 11-8 on the season. The Blue Devils travel to Spring Garden (Spring Garden, AL) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league bout on Monday, January 30. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 27-0. Spring Garden won 81-29 in their recent non-league bout against Ider (Ider, AL)

Next up, the Mountaineers clash with the Rockmart Yellowjackets (Rockmart, GA) in a AA Region 7 bout, on Friday, February 3. North Murray will attempt to upgrade on its 12-8 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a 6-16 record after their 68-41 league loss to Fannin County (Blue Ridge, GA).
