The Grayson County Blue Devils basketball team (Independence, VA), was nudged 38-31 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA)

The Maroon Tide now possess a 9-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fort Chiswell for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 31. Galax will confront a Pioneers team coming off a 29-19 non-league win over Auburn (Riner, VA). The Pioneers record now stands at 3-10.

The Blue Devils (6-6) will now prepare for their battle against Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA). The Bears enter the non-league contest with a 13-3 record. In their last contest, Bland County was nudged by George Wythe (Wytheville, VA), 37-33, in a non-league contest.
