Purnell Swett Rams (Pembroke, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Jack Britt Buccaneers (Fayetteville, NC), 37-35 in a league bout.

With the victory, Purnell Swett upgrades its record to 6-9 on the campaign. The Rams travel to South View (Hope Mills, NC) to play the Tigers in a bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 7-9. South View won 83-42 in their recent non-league bout against Lumberton (Lumberton, NC)

Next up, the Buccaneers play the Lumberton Pirates (Lumberton, NC) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 30. Jack Britt will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 5-7 record after their 83-42 non-league loss to South View (Hope Mills, NC).
