Piscataquis Pirates (Guilford, ME) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting George Stevens Academy Eagles (Blue Hill, ME), 68-59 in a league bout.

With the win, Piscataquis upgrades its record to 8-6 on the season. The Pirates travel to Greenville (Greenville, ME) to clash with the Lakers in a non-league bout on Monday, January 29. The Lakers go into the bout with a record of 1-13. Greenville lost 69-41 in their recent league bout against Forest Hills (Jackman, ME)

Next up, the Eagles clash with the Narraguagus Knights (Harrington, ME) in a C North bout, on Tuesday, January 30. George Stevens Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 12-3 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 8-7 record after their 60-46 league win over Woodland (Baileyville, ME).
