George Stevens Academy Eagles (Blue Hill, ME) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Piscataquis Pirates (Guilford, ME), 83-62 in a league bout.

With the win, George Stevens Academy upgrades its record to 6-2 on the season. The Eagles travel to Dexter (Dexter, ME) to play the Tigers in a C North bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 4-2. Dexter won 67-59 in their recent league bout against Central (East Corinth, ME)

Next up, the Pirates play the Penobscot Valley Howlers (Howland, ME) in a C North bout, on Monday, January 8. Piscataquis will attempt to upgrade on its 4-1 season record. The Howlers go into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 63-51 league win over Woodland (Baileyville, ME).
