Springfield Spartans (Akron, OH) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Coventry Comets (Akron, OH), 41-28 in a league bout.

With the victory, Springfield upgrades its record to 7-10 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Ravenna (Ravenna, OH) to play the Ravens in a Metro bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Ravens come into the bout with a record of 4-11.

Next up, the Comets play the Field Falcons (Mogadore, OH) in a Metro bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Coventry will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record. The Falcons come into the bout with a 9-9 record after their 62-46 league loss to Streetsboro (Streetsboro, OH).
