Mississippi High School Basketball - Purvis overwhelmed by Lawrence County

In Monday's league test, the Lawrence County Cougars (Monticello, MS) basketball squad trounced the host Purvis Tornadoes (Purvis, MS), by a score of 68-18.

Next, the Cougars encounter the Forrest County Agricultural Aggies (Brooklyn, MS) in a 4A Region 7 test, on Tuesday, January 28. Lawrence County will attempt to improve on its 16-7 season record. The Aggies come into the test with a 15-6 record after their 49-44 league loss to Columbia (Columbia, MS).

The Tornadoes (7-11) will now prepare for their test against Sumrall (Sumrall, MS). The Bobcats come into the 4A Region 7 test with a 8-18 record. In their last test, Sumrall was routed by Lawrence County (Monticello, MS), 56-49, in a league test.
