Mississippi High School Basketball - Lawrence County overwhelms Purvis

The Lawrence County Cougars basketball team scored 59 points and limited the visiting Purvis Tornadoes to 33 in the Cougars league triumph on Friday.

The Cougars now possess a 11-5 record. They play next when they travel to Sumrall for a 4A Region 7 game on Tuesday, January 7. Lawrence County will play a Bobcats team coming off a 53-28 league loss to Columbia (Columbia, MS). The Bobcats record now stands at 6-14.

With the loss, Purvis falls to 6-7 on the campaign. The Tornadoes travel to Sumrall (Sumrall, MS) to play the Bobcats in a 4A Region 7 contest on Friday, January 10. The Bobcats go into the contest with a record of 6-15. Sumrall lost 67-64 in their recent league contest against Lawrence County (Monticello, MS)
