The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the Shepaug Valley Spartans (Washington, CT) and the visiting Northwestern Regional Highlanders (Winsted, CT), observed Shepaug Valley's basketball team edge Northwestern Regional by a score of 70-64.
The Spartans (14-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Housatonic-Lakeview (Falls Village, CT). The Mountaineers come into the non-league challenge with a 0-4 record. In their last challenge, Housatonic-Lakeview was tipped by Thomaston (Thomaston, CT), 61-34, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Highlanders encounter the Nonnewaug Chiefs (Woodbury, CT) in a Berkshire challenge, on Friday, January 31. Northwestern Regional will attempt to improve on its 0-8 season record. The Chiefs come into the challenge with a 6-3 record after their 63-56 league win over Lakeview (Litchfield, CT).
