The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the Swansboro Pirates (Swansboro, NC) and the host Richlands Wildcats (Richlands, NC), observed Swansboro's basketball team overwhelm Richlands by a score of 71-31.

The Pirates (13-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Croatan (Newport, NC). The Cougars come into the 3A Coastal challenge with a 11-3 record. In their last challenge, Croatan was routed by White Oak (Jacksonville, NC), 64-56, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Wildcats encounter the White Oak Vikings (Jacksonville, NC) in a 3A Coastal challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Richlands will attempt to improve on its 4-10 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 10-5 record after their 71-59 league win over West Carteret (Morehead City, NC).
