The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Swansboro Pirates (Swansboro, NC) and the visiting Richlands Wildcats (Richlands, NC), observed Swansboro's basketball team overwhelm Richlands by a margin of 73-31.
The Pirates (15-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Croatan (Newport, NC). The Cougars come into the 3A Coastal challenge with a 12-4 record. In their last challenge, Croatan trounced Dixon (Holly Ridge, NC), 78-62, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Wildcats battle the West Carteret Patriots (Morehead City, NC) in a 3A Coastal challenge, on Monday, February 3. Richlands will attempt to better on its 4-12 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 8-5 record after their 64-63 league loss to White Oak (Jacksonville, NC).
