Illinois High School Basketball - Herscher can't hold off Wilmington

Wilmington Wildcats (Wilmington, IL) supporters left the game happy Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Herscher Tigers (Herscher, IL), 44-37 in a league match.

With the victory, Wilmington advances its record to 18-5 on the year. The Wildcats host Coal City (Coal City, IL) to face the Coalers in a Illinois Central 8 match on Thursday, January 30. The Coalers enter the match with a record of 18-6. Coal City won 53-33 in their recent league match against Streator (Streator, IL)

The Tigers now own a 11-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Reed-Custer for a Illinois Central 8 match on Thursday, January 30. Herscher will face a Comets squad coming off a 42-24 non-league loss to Serena (Serena, IL). The Comets record now stands at 10-13.
