Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Hurley Rebels (Hurley, VA), 57-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Giles upgrades its record to 5-12 on the season. The Spartans travel to Craig County (New Castle, VA) to play the Rockets in a non-league bout on Monday, January 30. The Rockets go into the bout with a record of 3-11. Craig County won 41-38 in their recent league bout against Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA)

Next up, the Rebels play the Twin Valley Panthers (Pilgrims Knob, VA) in a Black Diamond bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Hurley will attempt to upgrade on its 4-14 season record.
