Virginia High School Basketball - Hurley knocked off by Giles

The Giles Spartans basketball team scored 55 points and held the visiting Hurley Rebels to 42 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Spartans now sport a 3-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Galax for a Mountain Empire contest on Tuesday, January 10. Giles will meet a Maroon Tide team coming off a 56-47 league loss to Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA). The Maroon Tide record now stands at 0-10.
The Rebels (2-6) will now prepare for their contest against Grundy (Grundy, VA). The Golden Wave enter the Black Diamond contest with a 2-6 record. In their last contest, Grundy was outscored by Richlands (Richlands, VA), 66-63, in a non-league contest.
