In Saturday's non-league outing, the Alleghany Mountaineers (Covington, VA) basketball squad overwhelmed the host Craig County Rockets (New Castle, VA), by a margin of 44-21.

The Mountaineers (12-6) will now prepare for their outing against Carroll County (Hillsville, VA). The Cavaliers go into the Three Rivers outing with a 17-1 record. In their last outing, Carroll County smashed James River (Buchanan, VA), 79-19, in a league outing.

The Rockets now own a 1-12 record. They play next when they travel to Giles for a non-league outing on Monday, January 30. Craig County will clash with a Spartans squad coming off a 45-26 non-league loss to Narrows (Narrows, VA). The Spartans record now stands at 0-17.
