In Saturday's non-league match, the host Minden Whippets basketball team scored a tight 54-51 triumph over the Gothenburg Swedes.

In their next game, the Whippets meet the Cozad Haymakers (Cozad, NE) in a non-league match, on Friday, February 3. Minden will attempt to move on its 16-3 season record.

With the defeat, Gothenburg moves to 13-3 on the year. The Swedes travel to Southern Valley (Oxford, NE) to meet the Eagles in a non-league match on Monday, January 30. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 14-2. Southern Valley won 54-39 in their recent non-league match against Maywood/Hayes Center (Maywood, NE)
