Gothenburg Swedes (Gothenburg, NE) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Minden Whippets (Minden, NE), 42-33 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Gothenburg upgrades its record to 16-3 on the campaign. The Swedes host Ogallala (Ogallala, NE) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 10-10. Ogallala lost 55-41 in their recent non-league bout against Broken Bow (Broken Bow, NE)

Next up, the Whippets play the Wood River Eagles (Wood River, NE) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 9. Minden will attempt to upgrade on its 17-4 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 9-12 record after their 68-10 non-league win over Gibbon (Gibbon, NE).
